PROJECT TWEET

After fifty plus years of service, the T-37 was retired in 2009, and many were flown to the Boneyard in Tucson, AZ. Over the years, countless have been destroyed and only 41 T-37B's remain, awaiting an uncertain fate. Our goal is to save five to make at least one airworthy. The Tweet deserves to fly again and we hope to be the ones who make that happen.
We are a small but dedicated group of veterans and passionate advocates for all things aviation. From pilots to photographers, writers, historians, maintainers, and everyone in between, we are all committed to this project. This is a project of the nonprofit, the Arizona Aviation Historical Group.
Well, that depends on our government. Yup, it literally takes an act of Congress to acquire the airplanes. We are well into the process and hope to know more soon. When it happens, it will be an all hands effort to return this iconic airplane to the air. This photo happens all too often. We need to stop it and won't until we have exhausted every avenue available to us. Help us!
When we are successful in acquiring these airplanes, our plan is to evaluate the five airplanes, take the best, and use the remainder as a source of parts. We will NOT destroy the remaining airframes. We would like to take one and place it on display at the former Williams AFB, east of Phoenix.
This project will take an impressive amount of work, not all of it hands on. If you have a past with the Tweet, whether it be flying, working on or around her, anything....reach out! We would love to hear your stories! If you have photos, videos, documents, anything related to the T-37, let us know! We want to tell the story of this iconic airplane and adding a personal touch only helps us.
This site and any social media will be updated periodically. Bear with us as we work through this! In the mean time, keep your fingers and toes crossed!
